Kristen Bell reunites high school musical cast after 20 years
On ABC's Encore!, Kristen Bell helped bring together a group of people who hadn't performed together since their 1997 high school musical. After these seven former classmates gathered in a high school theater, to their surprise, Bell stopped by. "We would like to put on a full-scale production of Into the Woods with you guys as the cast," she said. "Here's the one catch," she continued, "You're gonna have to put on this production within the next seven days." It had been 20 years, and none of them had become professional actors, so it's fair to say that their revival got off to a shaky start as far as singing in key and dancing with rhythm. But they definitely came with a lot of heart and despite the time crunch, the reunited performers ended up putting on an impressive show complete with a rapping witch. Billy, who played the narrator, said, "When I get to work on Tuesday morning, I'm gonna feel like, 'You know what? Maybe I'm in the wrong line of business since I just nailed a Broadway musical.'"
