KNWA receives Regional Edward R. Murrow Award

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — KNWA received a Regional Edward R. Murrow Award, the Radio Television Digital News Association announced on Thursday.

KNWA was awarded the Region 9 Murrow Award in the Television | Small Market for Investigative Reporting.

KNWA Investigation: NWA doctor, hospital sued for false imprisonment

KNWA’s main anchor, Chad Mira was recognized for his reporting of Dr. Brian Hyatt, a former Behavioral Health Unit Director at the Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. Dr. Hyatt has been under investigation for Medicaid fraud and faces false imprisonment accusations.

Region 9 comprises Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi.

Regional winners automatically move on to the national competition and winners will be announced in August.
