Knox County Board of Education approves one-time payment to full-time employees

Apr. 3—BARBOURVILLE — The Knox County Board of Education approved a one-time payment of $1,000 at their regular monthly meeting on Thursday.

The payment will be distributed to all full-time employees at the school district.

The funding for the aforementioned payment comes from ESSER (Every Student Succeeds Act) funds, which are the remaining funds from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).

Employees of the school district can expect to receive the payment in May of this year.

Additionally, the board also approved a measure that would award the school district's financial service contract for fiscal year 2024 to White & Associates for $25,000.

The board also received a payment of $688.55 to repair a gate that had been damaged at Lynn Camp High School; an additional $1,500 payment from Barbourville Independent Schools was also accepted for the use of a track field owned by the Knox County School District.
