Knife-Wielding Shoplifter Steals Items From Norwalk Best Buy: PD
NORWALK, CT — A knife-wielding suspect Tuesday stole a Garmin GPS and two Nextbase Dash cameras from the Best Buy store on Connecticut Avenue in Norwalk, and authorities are asking for the public's help in identifying him.
The incident occurred at about 2:30 p.m., and as the suspect was leaving the store with the items, he was approached by two Best Buy employees who attempted to check the items he was holding.
"The suspect displayed a red pocket knife and exited the store," Norwalk police said, adding no injuries were reported. "The suspect was observed leaving in a silver SUV (possibly a 2008 to 2012 Ford Escape XLT) with no front license plate. The vehicle is equipped with a sunroof and roof rack."
The suspect was described as a dark-skinned black male, who was possibly wearing a wig. He wore a black hoodie sweatshirt, grey sweat pants and black sneakers. He also was wearing a black and white coronavirus mask (see the surveillance photos above).
