Kiwanis Boys and Girls Club girls basketball team brings home state title

MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) — The Lady Bengals girls basketball team brought home a trophy, rings and a state championship title.

The team is made up of girls 10 and under from the Bush Park Kiwanis Boys and Girls Club in Mobile County.

Over the weekend, they traveled to Gadsden to compete in the Alabama Recreation & Parks Associations state basketball tournament. The Lady Bengals won all 5 games, claiming the title.

Head Coach Leeanna Watson and Assistant Coach Angelica Rodgers were seen posing with the young girls holding up their number 1’s representing first place.

The team also had the chance to stop by Alabama State University and meet with the women’s basketball team.
