Kings and Wild wear 'Enough.' stickers on helmets after Thousand Oaks shooting
After 12 people were killed late Wednesday night when a gunman opened fire at a bar in the community of Thousand Oaks in Southern California, the Los Angeles Kings and Minnesota Wild decided to make a statement while honouring the victims on Thursday night.
Both teams donned stickers on the back of their helmets which read ‘ENOUGH.’

Additionally, the Kings had ‘ENOUGH.’ featured on the jumbotron at the game.

The slogan refers to the number of mass shootings that have occurred in the United States. Luc Robitaille, a former player and current president of the Los Angeles Kings, also had some very strong words about the situation on the broadcast.
"I think at some point we all looked at each other and said: 'It's enough.' We've got to stop the violence. It's not enough for every sports organization to just do a moment of silence. We need to do more."

Robitaille had this to say:
“We want to make sure that we don’t just go about our lives. And that’s the most important. We need to see and decide what can we do to help that this violence can’t just keep happening, and we just have a moment of silence and we move on. You know, we need to do more.”
Robitaille’s comments are strong and ring true. The shooting in Thousand Oaks marked the 307th mass shooting in the USA this year, according to USA Today.
The Kings president wasn’t the only sports figure to make a powerful statement. Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr had this to say about the matter:
“We’re going to have a moment of silence tonight (at the game). We had one last week. And we will probably have one next week,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr on all the US mass shootings.

The decals on the helmets are a nice first step, but they need to be exactly that if things are going to really change.
