Kings vs. Warriors: how to watch Sacramento’s first play-in game, and what a win would mean
The Sacramento Kings’ postseason dreams kick off in earnest Tuesday night, when De’Aaron Fox and Co. host the Golden State Warriors in a rematch of last year’s scintillating first-round playoff series.
Tuesday’s game will tip off at 7 p.m. at Golden 1 Center and be broadcast on TNT. Tickets went on sale Sunday at 5 p.m. and will likely sell out.
The Kings and Warriors are the NBA Western Conference’s ninth and 10th seeds, meaning that the loser of the matchup will be eliminated from the play-in tournament.
The winner will advance to play the loser of the New Orleans Pelicans-Los Angeles Lakers contest, and will need to win that Friday game to set up a best-of-seven series against the Western Conference’s top-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder.
The Kings entered last year’s postseason as the No. 3 seed but lost to the Warriors in seven games, with the final defeat coming at Golden 1 Center. Both teams have the same core with few new guards, with Keon Ellis replacing injured Kings Kevin Huerter and Malik Monk and the Warriors swapping Jordan Poole for Chris Paul last offseason.
