BRISTOL, Tenn. (WJHL) – King University’s Master of Social Work Program has received accreditation from the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) after a three-year candidacy period, the university announced in a release Thursday.

“The ability to design such a high-quality program, launch it, and achieve accreditation within three years is a testament to the skill and dedication of our Social Work faculty and staff,” said Erika Brammer, associate dean of Academic Affairs and Institutional Effectiveness. “There’s never been a greater need for qualified social workers, particularly in underserved regions, and we are proud to help support the mental and behavioral health needs of communities around the nation.”

Students who were admitted to the Master of Social Work Program in the fall 2021 semester or after and have completed their degree will be considered graduates of an accredited program, the release said.

This accreditation will extend to the year 2032.
