Kinetic Sculpture Race features mechanical ingenuity

The much-anticipated Baltimore Kinetic Sculpture Race promises a display of mechanical ingenuity and spirited competition. The American Visionary Art Museum produces and hosts the race. The museum's interim co-executive director and director of development and marketing, Valerie Williams, said the race embodies Baltimore's unique spirit. The race starts at 10 a.m. Saturday on Key Highway with 24 teams set to navigate homemade contraptions through downtown Baltimore, into the waters of Canton, and across the challenging terrain of sand and mud in Patterson Park.
