Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West have hired a surrogate to carry their third child, sources report. The West couple are of course already parents to a 4-year-old daughter, North, and an 18-month-old son, Saint. Kardashian West has, however, repeatedly discussed on her reality show Keeping Up With the Kardashians her desire to have more children. “I’d just love nothing more than to expand my family and just know that I have this world at home that’s safe,” she said in a past episode. However, the media star and businesswoman, who debuts her new line of cosmetics today, has also stated that she is unable to carry more children herself. Kardashian West has suffered from placenta accreta, a rare condition that affects approximately 0.2 percent of American women during pregnancy. The condition means that the placenta grows deep into the uterine wall, making its detachment difficult during birth. “I’ve come to the conclusion in my mind that I can’t carry another one,” Kardashian West told her mother, Kris Jenner, on Keeping Up With the Kardashians. “So now I want to explore surrogacy.” Exploration, apparently, complete.
