Kim Kardashian West Holds Low-Key 1st Birthday for Saint as Kanye Settles in Back Home from Hospital

Happy (early) birthday, Saint West!

To kick off the celebrations for her son’s first birthday, Kim Kardashian West hosted a balloon-filled party for Saint — who turns 1 on Dec. 5 — on Wednesday evening, a source tells PEOPLE.

And who better to celebrate his first year of life with than his aunties? Kourtney and Khloé Kardashian, and Kylie Jenner all attended the intimate party and documented the evening on Snapchat.

Each of the sisters posted a picture of a room filled with dozens of blue and silver balloons that floated at varying lengths in the high-vaulted ceiling.

The party coincided with husband Kanye West‘s return home from the hospital after more than a week addressing the effects of exhaustion and sleep deprivation. West’s hospitalization first began shortly after he canceled the remaining dates of his Saint Pablo tour and carried over the Thanksgiving holiday.

Kardashian West, 36, who had been in New York City to attend an event honoring her late father, Robert Kardashian, returned to Los Angeles to be by the 39-year-old rapper’s side. In the days that followed, Kardashian West spent much of her time with her husband at the hospital as he recovered from his physical and emotional meltdown.

A source previously told PEOPLE: the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star had been spending “hours with Kanye every day and that, despite concerns about how West’s erratic behavior has been effecting West’s relationship with their two children, another insider told PEOPLE on Thursday that Kardashian West is standing by her “best friend and soulmate” in this trying time.

“There are frustrations and problems, like any relationship,” said the source, “but they love each other deeply.”
