Kim Kardashian and Ryan Seacrest give Randy Jackson credit for 'KUWTK'

Kim Kardashian co-hosted Live With Kelly and Ryan, where she and Ryan Seacrest gave credit for Keeping Up With the Kardashians to Seacrest’s former American Idol co-star, Randy Jackson.

Seacrest was with Jackson at a Los Angeles restaurant in 2006 when Jackson spotted Kim and her sister Kourtney. Jackson took Seacrest over to meet the Kardashian sisters and insisted they work with Seacrest. But, according to Kim, having a TV show wasn’t even on her radar.

“We had no TV show career aspirations or anything. It was just, we were having a fun dinner out with our friends, and Randy says to us, with Ryan, ‘Man, you gotta work with Ryan. You guys, you gotta do something,’” Kim said.

Seacrest explained that he later met with Kim Kardashian’s mother, Kris Jenner, who agreed to have cameras at a family barbecue.

“You guys just said, ‘Bring a camera’,” Kim said. “Every Sunday we have family barbecues, and we said, we’re just gonna bring a camera and show the craziness.”

And that’s how Keeping Up With the Kardashians was spawned. So, depending on how you feel about the show, you can either blame or thank Randy Jackson.
