Kim Kardashian and Kanye West Move Into Unfinished L.A. Mansion Before the Arrival of Baby No. 3

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have moved into their new Hidden Hills, California, home, a source confirms to PEOPLE, despite ongoing renovations.

“The new house is not completely finished, but it’s safe for the kids,” the source says. “The plan all along was to move in before the new baby arrives. Kim seems happy. She has help getting everything ready in the new house for all the kids.”

Some of that help will no doubt come from a new neighbor: Kardashian’s mom, Kris Jenner, just purchased the home across the street from the couple for just under $10 million.

The married moguls previously moved in with Jenner for almost two years, around the time that their daughter North was born and while they were remodeling an $11 million home in Bel Air, which they recently sold for $18 million. In the fall of 2015, the couple moved back into Jenner’s home again for another six months.

Jenner has said she is more than happy to take on the role of almost-live-in grandma. I would “live with Kim and Kanye again,” Jenner, 61, told Steve Harvey in November. “In a heartbeat. I actually miss them!”

The couple purchased their new Hidden Hills home in 2014 for $20 million after realizing the Bel Air place that they had been extensively renovating wouldn’t quite suit the needs of their growing family.

“When we bought our Bel-Air house, we didn’t have a baby, we weren’t even pregnant,” Kardashian previously told PEOPLE. “After you have a baby, you realize that you need so many other things and a different kind of space. So being in the city is a different life. We wanted to be away and have more privacy.”

Despite the new address not being completely finished, the family will spend their first Christmas there in a few weeks. “They are spending the holidays in LA so they can be close to the surrogate,” the same source tells PEOPLE. “They are anxiously waiting for the baby to arrive. They seem more and more excited every day.”
