Kim Jong-un and Donald Trump's penchant for a big truck
Kim Jong-un has no truck with Donald Trump's threats against his regime. But the North Korean dictator does seem to share the US president's boyish excitement when it comes to big vehicles.
The North Korean leader is known for his sometimes bizarre photoshoots, during which he is usually seen beaming at whatever he is inspecting.
From shoe factories to manufacturers of cosmetics, Mr Kim has cast an expert eye over a huge range of products, with his entourage on hand to note down everything he has to say.
Hhis most recent tours have drawn comparisons with the US President.
Last week Mr Kim was seen sat happily in the driving seat of a tractor.
And in photos released early on Tuesday, the North Korean leader can be seen smiling broadly as he sits behind the steering wheel of a truck at the Sungri Motor Complex in South Pyongan Province.
The images drew comparisons with photographs of Mr Trump sat in the driving seats of a truck and fire engine at the White House in recent months.
"Kim Jong-un just visited the Sungri (Victory) Motor Complex: "He personally drove a truck to learn in detail about its performance and technical specifications." Remind you of anyone?" one reporter tweeted, along with a picture of the US president in a truck.
Mr Trump and Mr Kim have traded insults and threats in recent months as tensions soared in the region. Yet Mr Trump has floated the possibility of improved relations.
"I try so hard to be his friend - and maybe someday that will happen!" he tweeted last week.
Given that North Korea called the US president "an old lunatic" on Monday, it would appear they would need more than a love of large vehicles to settle their differences.
