Original story: The drama between the Sex and the City gang seems to have been paused amid the unexpected death of Kim Cattrall’s brother. We think.

Cattrall, who has retired from playing Samantha Jones in the NYC glam girl gang, took to social media on Sunday seeking help in finding her missing brother, Christopher Cattrall. He had been missing since Tuesday. The story didn’t end well. Chris, 55, was found deceased on his own property in Blackfalds, Alberta, Canada. Kim posted a follow-up message on social media soon after, saying that “with great sadness” she had discovered that he had died, which she described as “unexpected.”

Among the more than 5,000 messages on her Instagram post was one from Sarah Jessica Parker, with whom she has been publicly sparring since Cattrall pulled out of the third Sex and the City movie. “Dearest Kim, my love and condolences to you and yours and Godspeed to your beloved brother,” SJP wrote.

Cynthia Nixon also commented, writing, “Hey Kim such awful news. So sorry to hear. Sending you love. XO.”

SJP was both praised and criticized for her post, as is typical with social media and celebrity fandom. While someone wrote, “@sarahjessicaparker pure class,” another put, “I truly hope @sarahjessicaparker realizes what truly matters in life after her ridiculous and obnoxious PR stunt on this week’s WWHL & over the last months about you & SATC3. There is more to life and you deserve the life you want to live!”

It’s unclear whether SJP’s comment remains on the site. Now, hours later, it’s no longer coming up immediately, though Nixon’s still is.

Cattrall has not shared any further updates, but her brother went missing on Tuesday, leaving his front door unlocked and his wallet and keys inside his home. Also inside were his seven beloved dogs, so his family was concerned. A spokesperson for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police told CNN that Christopher was discovered in an unspecified location on his rural property. A cause of death was not provided, but the death was not deemed suspicious.

Just last week, SJP was on Watch What Happens Live joking around about Kim pulling the plug on the movie. Parker jokingly cast host Andy Cohen, her close friend, as a replacement in the role. However, the drama seems to be set aside now in the wake of real tragedy. We think.
