Warner Bros. and Sarah Jessica Parker both gave the thumbs up to a third "Sex and the City" movie -- but production is now permanently shuttered, SJP has confirmed.

"It's over ... we're not doing it," Sarah Jessica Parker told Extra this week. "I’m disappointed. We had this beautiful, funny, heartbreaking, joyful, very relatable script and story."

So what happened? According to reports, co-star Kim Cattrall just had too many demands. The 61-year-old actress, who played Samantha Jones, allegedly insisted that Warner Bros. also produce other movies she has in development.

"This franchise made her, and let's be frank, it's all she's really known for," one unnamed source told the Daily Mail.

Although Parker, 52, didn't acknowledge the damning report about Cattrall, she emphasized how much she really did want to do the project -- and how badly fans wanted it, too.

“It’s not just disappointing that we don’t get to tell the story and have that experience,” she said. “But more so for that audience that has been so vocal in wanting another movie.”

Without Cattrall, the iconic foursome would have been reduced to SJP, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon. All three had already signed onto the project before Cattrall's demands allegedly led to a permanent production shutdown.
