Local leaders said plans include:

  • Scrubbing and cleaning existing well, replacing pump, motor and shaft.

  • Replacing well discharge fittings and flow meter.

  • Installing temporary bypass for water trucks to be used for cleaning of tanks.

  • Cleaning 40,000-gallon storage tank.

  • Installing 8-2″ flush points starting Tuesday, May 7.

Officials said lines will be flushed every two days to clean piping and water.

“We are in the process of securing the funds to complete all work,” officials said. “Furthermore, we are seeking various avenues for funding to purchase a filter system. The filter system will take approximately 6-10 months to manufacture and ship.”

Livingston Parish Government officials urged residents to call the Killian Town Hall or elected officials if they continue to experience low water pressure, water discoloration or sediment in the water.
