Killer Chuckled on 911 Call When Asked If His Victim Was Breathing: Cops

A Florida man who cops say called 911 to report the fatal shooting of his girlfriend reportedly laughed during the call.

According to court documents obtained by KPHO, Teddy Vanders called 911 just before 4 a.m., admitting he shot and killed his girlfriend.

Court documents state that during the call, Vanders 'chuckled' when asked if the victim was still breathing.

Cops say the 52-year-old told them when they arrived that he'd been in an argument with his live-in girlfriend of 10 years.

Vanders admitted he'd been drinking, according to police.

A loaded gun was found in the residence, according to the arrest report.

While en route to the station for questioning, police say Vanders told them he'd been abused by his girlfriend and that "jail time would be worth it" to get away from her.

Vanders reportedly said he knew he would do jail time for what he'd done but that he hoped the judge in his case "understood him."

The girlfriend was found dead at the scene with a single gunshot wound to the head. She has not yet been identified.
