Kia reintroduces the 3rd gen Cee’d as Ceed in Geneva

Transcript: Kia Cee’d is back as the Ceed. Kia debuted the new Ceed at the Geneva International Motor Show. Hoping to increase their C-segment vehicle sales in Europe. In 2017, 22% of all european vehicle sales were from C-segment cars. Kia changed the name of the previous generation Cee’d to Ceed (Community Of Europe, With European Design). The new Ceed is the first Kia to include level two autonomous technology in the form of lLane following assist. Several powertrain options are available including a 4-cyl 1.4-liter turbocharged engine making 138 hp and 178 lb-ft of torque. The Ceed will also have diesel options including a 4-cyl 1.6-liter turbocharged engine making 134 hp and 207 lb-ft of torque. 6-speed manual transmission comes standard with an optional 7-speed automatic for the diesel and top trim gas engines. The Ceed will begin production in May with sales beginning by the end of the second quarter of 2018. Kia debuted the 3rd gen Cee’d now called the Ceed at the Geneva International Motor Show. The Ceed is Kia’s first to introduce level 2 autonomous technology in the form of ‘lane following assist’. It will begin production in May with sales by the end of the second quarter of 2018.
