Khloé Kardashian slammed for 'Thin AF' post and making light of mental illness

Her character on The Good Place, Tahani, is famed for her shameless celebrity name-dropping. In real life, though, actress Jameela Jamil is calling out a big star for a very serious reason.

The boldfaced name in question is Khloé Kardashian, who recently raised eyebrows for posting a story on her app promoting hacks to “look thin AF in pics.”

The story didn’t sit well with Jamil, who has been outspoken on a number of issues, from body image to sexual harassment. The British star took to Twitter to call Kardashian’s post a “trap of pointless poison” which promoted “low self-esteem.” She added that posts like this spread the message that a woman’s appearance is more important than her accomplishments.

Jamil’s fans chimed in, some accusing the Kardashians of “perpetuating harmful thinspo.”

Meanwhile, many people have pointed out that the reality star’s “Khlo-C-D Week” coverage of mental health topics could be seen as insensitive to those who have been diagnosed with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). Kardashian has been criticized in the past for attributing her own preference for clean, organized spaces to OCD, in a gross simplification of a complex issue.

Kardashian, who celebrated her baby shower over the weekend, has yet to respond to the criticism.
