A Russian glide bomb attack on the evening of May 4 set fire to about 4000 square meters of a civilian production facility, a warehouse, a nearby residential building and several outbuildings in the administrative center of Kharkiv, the Ukrainian State Emergency Service reported on Telegram, along with photos and video of the aftermath.

It took firefighters more than three hours to extinguish the blaze, which was visible from a distance of 10 kilometers.

At least six workers, including four women, were treated for explosion injuries, according to regional governor Oleh Synehubov. He also posted photos of the aftermath on his Telegram channel.

This follows earlier reports the same day of a series of other daytime Russian attacks and explosions in Kharkiv Oblast that killed a 49-year-old civilian man in the village of Slobodzhanivka, injured a 74-year-old woman in the village of Cherkaski Tyshky, and damaged two two-story apartment buildings and a private house in the village of Odnorobivka.

The following morning, May 5, Ukrainian public broadcaster Suspilne reported an overnight Russian Shahed drone attack on Kharkiv and Dnipro. At least one person was injured in an explosion in Kharkiv and was treated by paramedics.

Later, Ukrainian Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk reported that the country's air defense units and mobile fire groups had shot down 23 of 24 Russian one-way attack drones over the Kharkiv, Kherson, and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts overnight.
