Kevin Spacey Accuser Drops Groping Lawsuit

Kevin Spacey is inching closer to being off the hook for allegedly groping a busboy in a Nantucket bar after the man dropped his lawsuit.

According to the L.A. Times, attorney Mitchell Garabedian announced that the civil suit filed June 26 in Nantucket Superior Court has been voluntarily dismissed.

Garabedian, who represented the 18-year-old man who claimed he was fondled by Spacey, did not give a reason for the dismissal, or if a settlement was reached with the disgraced actor.

According to court records, the dismissal was done "with prejudice," which means it cannot be refiled.

Spacey may have dodged one hurdle, but he still faces a criminal charge over the same incident.

The star has previously pled not guilty to indecent assault and battery, and believes the son of former Boston TV anchor, Heather Unruh, was lying about the allegations for money.

The man said he was working as a busboy at the Club Car restaurant when Spacey allegedly got him drunk and sexually assaulted him.

Last month, the actor showed up to a Nantucket courthouse, with his attorney Alan Jackson, and fought to get the case thrown out.

The case has revolved around a cellphone that allegedly contains text messages that Spacey's team believes prove his innocence.

While in court, Jackson argued that the accuser's mother deleted information from her son's phone before handing it over to police. In documents filed last week, Spacey's legal team claimed the accuser went "to great lengths to remove text messages that he believes did not fit his narrative."

The man has been ordered to produce the phone, but his legal team claims he cannot find it. He was given until Monday to hand it over ... but seeing as the civil lawsuit has now been settled, there's a good chance the criminal case will fall apart.
