Kevin Iole takes on Dominick Cruz in 'Picking Against the Pros' for UFC on Fox 28

Staring with UFC on Fox 28 on Saturday from the Amway Center in Orlando, Fla., I’m going to start a series we’ll calling “Picking Against the Pros,” in which I go head-to-head with a top MMA fighter or expert making picks for an upcoming show.

I started out tough, going against Dominick Cruz, the former UFC bantamweight champion and current Fox Sports MMA analyst.

We picked winners in the four fights on the main card, with odds as of Feb. 20 at the Westgate Las Vegas.

The fights we picked were:

“Platinum” Mike Perry (11-2 overall, 4-2 UFC) -350 vs. Max Griffin (13-4 overall, 1-2 UFC), +275, three rounds, welterweights.

Ovince Saint Preux (22-10 overall, 8-5 UFC) -120 vs. Ilir Latifi (14-5 overall, 6-3 UFC) +100, three rounds, light heavyweights.

Jessica Andrade (17-6 overall, 8-4 UFC) -300 vs. Tecia Torres (10-1 overall, 6-1 UFC) +240, three rounds, strawweights.

Jeremy Stephens (26-14 overall, 14-13 UFC), -160 vs. Josh Emmett (13-1 overall, 4-1 UFC), +140, five rounds, lightweights.
