'Kevin Can Wait' first look: Leah Remini needs her partner back (again)
As viewers saw in the second season premiere last week, Kevin Can Wait is wasting no time incorporating new series regular Leah Remini into Kevin James’s fictional family fold. And in this exclusive first look at the Monday, Oct. 2 episode “Business Unusual,” we get a better sense of how Remini’s Vanessa is going to remain a daily fixture in Kevin’s life.
Having already recruited her former police partner Kevin to help her crack a case last season, Vanessa — who has now retired as a cop and works private security gigs — arrives unexpectedly at the Gable household because she needs Kevin to join her on another job. When Kevin insists that he has no interest in working and wants to focus on being a stay-at-home dad, Vanessa reluctantly appeals to his ego. “I need the best,” she says, nearly choking on the words. Hearing that, Kevin decides that he — aka “Superman” — can don his cape and fly to the rescue one last time. Something tells us, though, that this partnership is going to last all season long.
