Kentucky man hit by vehicle, dies of injuries in Scioto County

PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (WCMH) — A Kentucky man is dead after being hit by a car Saturday morning in Scioto County, Ohio.

38-year-old Derrick Cordle from Ashland was attempting to cross a road less than half a mile west of State Route 73 just after 6 a.m. when he was hit by an oncoming vehicle, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Troopers of the OSHP responded and pronounced Cordle dead at the scene.

Impairment of the driver is not suspected as the crash remains under investigation, per the OSHP.
