KDL, which last year won the national Jerry Kline Community Impact Prize, was the only Michigan institution to make the list.

“We are thrilled and humbled to be among the finalists for the National Medal for Museum and Library Service,” KDL Executive Director Lance Werner said in a release. “This recognition affirms our commitment to serving our community and highlights the invaluable role libraries play as vital community hubs for learning, connection and growth.”

The winners will be announced in late May.
