Kendrick joins LaBeouf in Redford's 'Company'

Anna Kendrick will play an FBI agent in 'The Company You Keep'

For Robert Redford's upcoming film, The Company You Keep, the actor and director has gathered a strong ensemble cast including new additions Anna Kendrick (Up in the Air, Twilight) and Brendan Gleeson (Harry Potter), who join Shia LaBeouf (Transformers 4) and Julie Christie, among others.

The film adaptation of Neal Gordon's novel centers on an ex-Weather Underground militant who goes on the run when his true identity is exposed by a young journalist.

According to Variety, Redford will portray the political activist and direct the thriller. As a fugitive, he tracks down former colleagues, encountering drug dealers, leftist academics, Vietnam vets, FBI agents and Republicans who reconsider the 1960s.

Also stars Susan Sarandon (Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps), Nick Nolte (Tropic Thunder), Richard Jenkins (Friends With Benefits), Stanley Tucci (Julie & Julia), Chris Cooper (The Town), and Jackie Evancho, the 11-year-old operatic singer, who will play Redford's character's daughter.

Kendrick plays an FBI agent and LaBeouf plays the journalist, her former boyfriend. Terrance Howard (Iron Man) heads the FBI taskforce and Gleeson portrays a retired police investigator of the bank robbery committed 30 years before.

The film is in production in Vancouver, BC, Canada and is scheduled for release in 2012.
