Rincon Mayor Ken Lee submitted his letter of resignation to staff on Thursday. Lee served as mayor for 18 years.

Mayor Pro Tem Kevin Exley will resume the post.

Lee, who was elected to a fifth term in 2021, wrote, in part, “My greatest obligation is to my faith and family. At this time my first and greatest priority is my family who needs my complete and undivided attention. My desire is for prosperity for our city and all its citizens in the days ahead.”
