Keith Olbermann Has Found a Way Back to Television

TBS's Major League Baseball post-season coverage will be graced by everyone's favorite vitriolic television host: Keith Olbermann. Olbermann, who was fired from Current TV in March of last year, is returning to TV to lead TBS's studio show, The Hollywood Reporter's Marisa Guthrie writes. Olbermann will host the Atlanta-based show along with Dennis Eckersley. TBS has rights to the the Wild Card Playoff games, 18 out of 20 League Division Series games, and the National League Championship Series.

Obviously Olbermann, who started his career in sports reporting, is qualified for this gig. Just in November he was tasked, as a guest host of the MLB Network's Hot Stove, with making off-season baseball interesting. Just think what he can do when it's on-season.

But given Olbermann's poor track record when it comes to keeping a job, the denizens of Twitter are already taking bets on the time it will take before he's off the air. 

And there is a clear opportunity for feuding. Guthrie explains that "the new arrangement with Turner Sports - part of Time Warner - puts Olbermann under the same corporate roof with Jeff Zucker, who is now running CNN." Ah, Olbermann and Zucker. What could go wrong? There could be fireworks. Or, you know, a gig at CNN.
