KDOT hosts open house for 3 U.S. 75 bridge projects

OSAGE COUNTY (KSNT) – The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) will host an informational meeting about three U.S. 75 projects in Osage City.

KDOT said in a press release the department will be hosting an open house to share information about three upcoming bridge projects along U.S. 75 in Osage County that are scheduled over the next four years. While there won’t be a formal project presentation, open house attendees will have the opportunity to review the upcoming projects and speak with project staff one-on-one.

KDOT spokeswoman Kate Craft said in the press release the open house meeting will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19 at Marais des Cygnes Valley High School, at 508 N.E. Main Street in Melvern.

The first project KDOT has scheduled will start this year. Crews will resurface and patch U.S. 75 bridges over 333rd Street, 325th Street, 341st Street and Frog Creek. Temporary traffic signals will direct motorists through the work zone on U.S. 75 for the duration of the project.

In 2025, crews will be redecking the U.S. 75 bridge over the BNSF railroad and the Marais des Cygnes River. This project is expected to last two construction seasons, according to KDOT. During this project, U.S. 75 motorists will be detoured to K-31.

The last U.S. 75 project KDOT will be discussing at the open house is replacing bridges over Frog Creek and 341st Street. The project is expected to not start earlier than 2027. Traffic from U.S. 75 will also be detoured to K-31.
