KCSO partners with Hyundai to install free steering wheel locks

In response to the increase in Hyundai car thefts, the Kern County Sheriff's Office is partnering with Hyundai to offer free steering wheel locks to Hyundai owners from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Hyundai dealership on 5300 Wible Road.

Distribution of the steering wheel locks will be on a first-come, first-serve basis while supplies last. Hyundai may also offer software and hardware upgrades for eligible customers, and help schedule appointments for preventive upgrades.
