KCSO partners with Hyundai to provide free steering wheel locks for vehicles

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Kern County Sheriff’s Office is partnering with Bakersfield Hyundai to provide theft prevention services to community members this weekend.

The partnership comes after increased thefts of Hyundai vehicles. The dealership at 5300 Wible Road will provide steering wheel locks to the public at 10 a.m. on Saturday.

Distribution of steering wheel locks is on a first come, first served basis. Hyundai owners must bring their registration.

Drivers who are eligible can also get software and hardware upgrades, and can schedule appointments for these preventative upgrades.
