Kawasaki Sponsors AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days

Kawasaki is set to sponsor the annual AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days meeting at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio, July 7-9, featuring the Riders of Kawasaki (ROK), in association with the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA).

A special group of former Kawasaki racers will be on hand, serving as the event’s Grand Marshals. Attendees will have the chance to meet motocross pro Gary Semics, champion drag racer Tony Nicosia and former Kawasaki test rider and mechanic Steve Johnson. The AMA will also be hosting a Kawasaki motorcycle display with a special selection of historic and new Kawasaki models, and also giving away a new Kawasaki Z125 PRO.

“With more than 50 years in America, Kawasaki is excited to be a part of the AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days,” said Kawasaki Vice President of Marketing Chris Brull. “The event has become a staple in the American motorcycle culture, and we hope our racers, motorcycle display, and Riders of Kawasaki group will help to even further celebrate motorcycling in America.”

The AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days is a nonprofit fundraiser for the AMA Hall of Fame. Informally known as “America’s largest motorcycle swap meet,” the weekend-long event features national championship vintage racing in numerous disciplines and unforgettable fun everywhere.

"Since 1966, Kawasaki has delivered on its promise to provide American motorcyclists high-performance fun, sensible transportation, the keys to two-wheeled adventure and everything in between," said AMA Chief Operations Officer Jeff Massey. “AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days, featuring Riders of Kawasaki, will tell the stories of the men and women who have enjoyed Kawasaki's incredible machines, from the 1966 Samurai to the breathtaking 2017 Ninja H2R sportbike. And in the off-road arena, we've seen bikes like the legendary Bighorn and the championship-winning KX250F and KX450F motocross bikes. In addition, we can highlight some of the benefits of the AMA affinity program, including ‘ROK, Powered by the AMA,’ designed for AMA members who are fans of Kawasaki motorcycles.”

ROK is a community of riders who enjoy camaraderie in the world of powersports. From motorcycles to side-by-sides and personal watercraft, all Kawasaki enthusiasts are welcome. For more information about ROK, Powered by the AMA, see www.kawasaki.com/rok/whoweare. AMA members will have the opportunity to join the ROK affinity group at AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days and receive special incentives directly from KMC.
