Katherine Heigl mommy-shamed for her 1-year-old's car seat

Katherine Heigl is the latest celebrity mom to face scrutiny about her parenting skills.

The actress recently posted a throwback photo of her 14-month-old son Joshua on Instagram. The baby, who is the youngest of Heigl’s three children with singer husband Josh Kelley, is pictured sitting in a car seat.

In her Those Heavenly Days blog, the former Grey’s Anatomy star noted that Joshua has started using a larger car seat in the time since that photo was taken.

“We’ve already had to upgrade Joshua Jr. to a larger car seat ’cause he’s a giant, but I loved the ease and safety of the Uppababy infant car seat,” the proud mom wrote.

It’s just as well because Heigl is currently getting mommy-shamed for how her son is positioned in the car seat.

“Is no one else commenting on how his chest clip is too low and not tight enough?!” asked one commenter.

“Not to be ‘one of those people’ but the chest clip really needs to be at armpit level!” added another follower. “I feel like if I don’t say something and something happens I’d feel so terrible.”

Some fans leaped to Heigl’s defense.

“My car seat always looks like this until I tighten it,” read one comment. “I’m sure she knows how to buckle her kid up. Sheesh!”

“How do you know [the buckle] wasn’t pulled down to take pictures?” another supporter chimed in. “I’m sure she’s got it under control.”

Heigl’s not alone in being called out for her baby product usage. Ryan Reynolds was criticized for the way he held daughter James in a baby carrier, as was new mom Julia Stiles.
