Kate Upton is back again in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue

The editors of this year’s Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue live by the philosophy that there’s “no such thing as too much Kate Upton.” So, yes, she’s back for more in the new 2018 issue.

While the cover went to Danielle Herrington, who is just the third African-American to receive that honor after Tyra Banks and Beyoncé, “Kate the Great,” as the mag once dubbed her, appears inside and with the cover line “Kate Upton brings it.”

The mag posted a minute-long video teasing Kate’s new pictorial. In the Caribbean shoot, she’s posing on a tree. She’s strolling down the beach in a weblike ensemble. More tree. She’s in the surf wearing fringe. There’s Kate in ruffles. She’s in a train and nothing else. Fringe and nothing else. You get the picture.

The mag also tweeted an image declaring that “KATE. UPTON. IS. BACK” with a bunch of love eyes.

There’s also a gallery of 45 photos of her in Aruba that you can pore over — if that is your thing.

The model has had a hot and cold relationship with the annual Sports Illustrated issue — and we aren’t talking about those Antarctica pics. Her rookie of the year pics in the 2011 issue helped make her a star, and she went on to grace the cover three times — in 2012, 2013, and 2017. However, she sat out in 2015 and 2016, focusing on some acting projects, and it didn’t go unnoticed. Her comment to E! about not missing it didn’t help. Then last year, there were rumors she wouldn’t participate unless she was guaranteed the cover. She ended up with not one or two, but three covers.

Upton has yet to post or repost pictures from this year’s issue, but she’s been busy with New York Fashion Week — and life. The star, who is newly married to MLB star pitcher Justin Verlander, recently made headlines for accusing Guess co-founder Paul Marciano of sexual misconduct.
