Kate Middleton sends 'thoughts and prayers' to those affected by London terror attack

Kate Middleton has paid tribute to the victims of the London terror attack – asking people to join her in ‘sending thoughts and prayers’ to those affected following Wednesday’s devastating scenes in Westminster.

Just hours after Prime Minister Theresa May said ‘millions of acts of normality’ was the best way to respond to the attack, the Duchess of Cambridge kept an engagement at an event promoting maternity mental health in Regents Park, London.

Kate said: ‘Before I begin, I know you would all want to join me in sending our thoughts and prayers to all those sadly affected by yesterday’s terrible attack in Westminster.

‘We will be thinking of all the families, as we discuss the important issues we’re here to talk about.’

Four people died following the attack at Westminster, including the knife man who was shot by armed police.

The attacker mowed down pedestrians on Westminster Bridge before running through the gates of a nearby parliament building, and stabbing PC Keith Palmer, who later died.

ISIS has since claimed responsibility for the attack, which also claimed 43-year-old teacher Aysha Frade and an unnamed man in his fifties who died on the scene. Around 40 others were injured.
