  • Kate Middleton and Prince William have just taken part in a show with Mary Berry, and the Duchess admitted that her youngest son Louis' first words were about the TV chef.

  • Louis may not be two years old yet, but apparently he'd recognise the 84-year-old if he met her!

We all have our idols, and according to the Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Louis' is Mary Berry.

Prince William and Kate Middleton have teamed up with former Great British Bake Off host Mary Berry for a Christmas special called A Berry Royal Christmas. The special follows the royals and Mary "as they serve a festive feast to thank those who are spending their Christmas helping others," - and during filming for the show, Kate revealed some very sweet information about her youngest son.

Chatting away to the former GBBO judge, the duchess admitted: "One of Louis' first words was 'Mary' because right at his height are all my cooking books in the kitchen bookshelf...And children are really fascinated by faces, and your faces are all over your cooking books and he would say 'That's Mary Berry'...so he would definitely recognise you if he saw you today."

So sweet!

Prince William also spoke with Mary about how his relationship with his mother, Princess Diana, had influenced his style of parenting.

"She realised that it was very important when you grow up - especially in the life that we grew up - that you realise that life happens beyond palace walls, and that you see real people struggling with real issues," he said, admitting that he speaks to George and Charlotte about homelessness.

"I know it sounds a little bit contrite - but on the school run already, bear in mind six and four (George and Charlotte's age), whenever we see someone who is sleeping rough on the street I talk about it and I point it out and I explain."

The show sees the royal couple preparing for an event at the palace, and helping Mary create some of her favourite recipes. Former GBBO winner Nadiya Hussain also makes an appearance alongside the Duke and Duchess.

A Berry Royal Christmas airs tonight (Monday 16 December) at 20:30 GMT on BBC One.
