Tiaras are not reserved for married women. Unless you think Princess Margaret (the Queen's sister), Princess Anne (the Queen's daughter), Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden, Princess Madeleine of Sweden, Princess Caroline of Monaco, Princess Martha Louise of Norway, Infantas Elena and Christina of Spain, etc etc etc, *all* were breaking protocol when they wore tiaras while they were still single. Tiaras are worn by any woman who is wealthy enough to own one at the proper venue. In Britain that is limited mostly the white tie events, diplomatic events, and the State Opening of Parliament. Other countries wear them at a wider variety of venues, including certain black tie events. Quit spreading that nonsense. It's never been true than only married women can wear tiaras.
