Kabul (AFP) - Afghan President Hamid Karzai has agreed to delay the inauguration of his successor to allow time for a full audit of votes cast in the disputed election, US Secretary of State John Kerry said Sunday.

The two candidates vying to replace Karzai had asked for the August 2 ceremony to be put back to allow time for all votes cast in the June 14 run-off poll to be checked, amid allegations of fraud.
