Every year, Diane von Furstenberg puts a spotlight on inspiring women making change across the globe with the DVF Awards. This year, Karlie Kloss will be amongst the women honored at the 8th Annual DVF Awards in New York.

The designer and supermodel announced the news via Facebook this morning that Kloss would be receiving the 2017 Inspiration Award. Between her organization that helps young women and girls learn how to code, Kode With Klossy, and her gluten-free cookie line, Klossies, that benefit FEED and the CFDA, Kloss's philanthropic work both in and out of the fashion world make her the perfect choice for the award.

In the Facebook video, Kloss also encourages everyone to vote for this year's People's Voice Award, one of five honors given each year at the DVF Awards that's chosen by popular vote.

The nominees for this year's People's Voice Award were announced by the brand on International Women's Day and include four distinguished women: Chitra Aiyar (of the Sadie Nash Leadership Project), Kay Buck (of CAST LA), Astrid Heppenstall Heger (of the Violence Intervention Program) and Louise Dubé (of iCivics). You can read more about each of these women's inspiring missions and vote for the winner on dvf.com/dvf-awards.

The 2017 DVF Awards will take place on Thursday, April 6th at the UN in New York City.
