Karl Lagerfeld, head designer and creative director for Chanel, Fendi, and his own line, has had quite the illustrious career. He has designed countless successful lines for the Parisian and Italian fashion houses, but there’s one area of his industry he — admittedly or not — hasn’t touched upon: clothing for curvy women.

Disturbingly, many believe that Karl not only purposefully excludes curvaceous women, but that he’s also a notorious fat-shamer as well (remember when he was caught saying that “nobody wanted to see curvy people on the runway”?). So, when Lagerfeld finally acknowledged curvy women in an exclusive sketch he created for WWD, highlighting the Kardashian-effect on the little black dress, we were all rightfully a bit surprised.

In the sketch, one of the women that he’s drawn is short and curvy, which is shockingly different than the body type he’s endorsed in the past. See it for yourself, below:

While Karl references the body in the image to be representative of the Kardashians, many people took to social media to tell him otherwise, saying that this wasn’t the image of the reality star moguls, but rather of what a normal woman looks like. One tweet, specifically, summed it up perfectly:

At least we can now finally say that Karl Lagerfeld has acknowledged what regular women actually look like. At 82 years old, it’s never too late to change.
