Kanye's Quest to Become Steve Jobs Now Has a Steve Jobs-Signed Mouse

If you thought Steve Wozniak's visit to Kanye West on Father's Day made almost no sense as a "present" on the occasion of little North West, wait until you see the other half of that gift from his baby mama Kim Kardashian. In addition to a hospital hello from the only living Apple co-founder, Kim got her man the two signed mice pictured above, including one from Steve Jobs himself, which West tweeted on Monday and which is, uh, also weird. Sure, these Apple tech relics have some value — an authentic Jobs signature goes for thousands of dollars on eBay — but that's nothing to Kimye, a couple that's not exactly known for being famous Apple fanboy loser geeks or anything close to it. No, this is about something else.

Kanye West is on a quest to embody Steve Jobs. In that much discussed recent New York Times interview, he proclaimed himself the next in line:

I think what Kanye West is going to mean is something similar to what Steve Jobs means. I am undoubtedly, you know, Steve of Internet, downtown, fashion, culture. Period. By a long jump. I honestly feel that because Steve has passed, you know, it’s like when Biggie passed and Jay-Z was allowed to become Jay-Z.

So, it seems, after making his case in the Times, having a conversation with Woz was step two in a strange quest to be something bigger, more lasting. A signed mouse, apparently, is step three. So, what's next? A Kanye line of mock turtlenecks? A temper tantrum over his iPhone screens? Acid?
