Kansas softball gets first ranked Big 12 series win in nearly two decades

LAWRENCE (KSNT) – Kansas softball head coach Jennifer McFalls was given a contract extension after a 2023 season that gave the Jayhawks their first Big 12 series win since 2019.

McFalls and company are off to a hot start in 2024. With a 3-2 Friday win and 2-0 Saturday win over No. 13 Baylor, it marks the first ranked conference series win for Kansas softball since 2005.

KU’s last ranked series win over a Big 12 foe was a two-game sweep of No. 5 Oklahoma, 5-4, 4-1, on April 23 and 24, 2005.

The Jayhawks have started the 2024 season with an 18-7-1 record, 3-2 in Big 12 play. Kansas will look for the sweep over the Bears Sunday at noon.
