Kansas Shrine Duals: East team wins inaugural wrestling event

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – The inaugural KWCA Kansas Shrine Duals was held on Sunday, March 17, at Newman University in Wichita.

The East team claimed the crown. East prevailed by a final team dual score of 72-62 by winning five of the final six matches in the dual.

Wrestlers went beyond the mats to raise funds.

“The wrestlers themselves went out and talked to local businesses and people to raise that money. They’ve been a great part of the philanthropy, and they got a chance today to meet seven of our hospital patient ambassadors,” Brice Kesley, executive director of Kansas Shrine Bowl, said.

All net proceeds from the KWCA Kansas Shrine Duals will benefit Shriners Children’s Hospitals.
