Kansas City Manager Brian Platt withdraws consideration for Austin city manager

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City Manager Brian Platt has withdrawn from consideration for the Austin city manager position.

“I formally withdrew from consideration from Austin’s City Manager search as of this afternoon,” Platt said in a statement on Sunday afternoon.

He also stated that more details were coming soon.

Last week, Platt was listed as one of three finalists for the position. Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas said the city would work to keep Platt in Kansas City.

Platt has been the city manager in Kansas City since December 2020.
