Kansas City area restaurants with health code violations: Bawarchi, Tanner’s, more

Here are area restaurants with seven or more priority or critical health code violations, with highlighted links to some original public record reports.

Restaurants correct most violations at the time of the original inspection or shortly thereafter. Links to the follow-up inspections show how each establishment has corrected or is working to correct any remaining violations.

The Kansas Department of Agriculture cited these operations for seven or more priority health code violations (direct links to the reports are not available).

Bawarchi Biryanis, 7284 W. 121st St., Overland Park, had 20 priority violations during a June 12 inspection for an expired license.

Tanner’s Bar & Grill, 10146 W. 119th St., Overland Park, had eight priority violations during a June 8 joint inspection.

What’s on Your Plate, 10201 W. 47th St., Shawnee, had eight priority violations during a June 8 follow-up inspection.

Johnny’s Tavern, 6765 W. 119th St., Overland Park, seven priority inspections during a June 7 inspection following a complaint.

The Kansas City Health Department cited these operations for seven or more critical violations:

Big Mouth’s Chicken Fish Tenderloins, 3010 Van Brunt Blvd., had 10 critical violations during a May 30 routine inspection. It had seven critical violations during a June 6 follow-up inspection.

El Mercado Fresco, bakery, 5117 Independence Ave., had seven critical violations during a May 31 routine inspection. It had one critical violation during a June 8 follow-up inspection.

Haha’s Kebabs and Shawarma, 204 W. 39th St., had seven critical violations during a May 22 routine inspection. It had five critical violations during a May 31 follow-up inspection and no critical violations during a June 6 follow-up inspection.

Hong’s Buffet & Mongolian Grill, 6151 N.W. Barry Road, had seven critical violations during a May 23 routine inspection. It had no critical violations during a May 30 follow-up inspection.

The Russell, 3141 Main St., had seven critical violations during a May 23 routine inspection.
