Kansas catfish, bass fishing tournaments ahead

TOPEKA (KSNT) – Get your rod and reel ready because several fishing tournaments are coming to Kansas and Missouri this summer that you don’t want to miss.

The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks (KDWP) has several fishing tournaments listed in its events section on its website for 2024. Many of the tournaments are for catfish or bass through the Catfish Chasers Tournament Series or Kansas Buddy Bass Tournament Fishing.

Catfish Chasers Tournament Series 2024

David Studebaker with the Catfish Chasers series told 27 News that each event costs $500 to register with 50 teams for each event. Currently, there are six tournaments listed with a Championship Tourney set for the top 25 qualified teams on Sept. 28.

  • Milford Lake

    • 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on March 23

    • Check in at the south state park ramp

  • Perry Lake

    • 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on April 6

    • Check in at Lakeview State Park ramp

  • Melvern Lake

    • 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 11

    • Check in at state park ramp

  • Wolf Creek/Coffey County Lake

    • 7 p.m. to 8 a.m. on July 13

    • Check in at main ramp thru gate

  • Tuttle Creek

    • 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Aug. 3

    • Check in location to be determined

  • Calamus Catfish Classic

    • 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Aug. 24 and 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Aug. 25

    • Check in at Homestead Knolls ramp

Kansas Buddy Bass Tournament Fishing 2024

This tournament series is hosting many of its events in Missouri with two set for Kansas.

  • Lake of the Ozarks (MO)

    • 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on March 23 and March 24

    • Check in at Shawnee Bend ramp

  • Perry Lake

    • 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 28

    • Check in at state park ramp

  • Lake of the Ozarks River (MO)

    • 5:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. on May 19

    • Check in at Bledsoe Ferry ramp

  • Mozingo Lake (MO)

    • 5:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on June 8-9

    • Check in at city ramp

  • Truman Lake (MO)

    • 5:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on July 20-21

    • Check in at state park ramp

  • Stockton Lake (MO)

    • 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Aug. 18

    • Check in at RB boat ramp

  • Pomme de Terre Lake (MO)

    • 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sept. 22

    • Check in at harbor ramp

  • Wilson Lake

    • 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 13

    • Check in at state park ramp

  • Table Rock Lake (MO)

    • 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Nov. 2-3

    • Check in at Mill Creek ramp
