Kansas authorities seize $3.9 million in cash & property last year

KANSAS — $3.9 million dollars — that’s the total cash and property seized by Kansas authorities last year.

That’s 379 police departments, sheriff’s offices and even the state highway patrol.

A few agencies in southeast Kansas are on the forfeiture list. The Bourbon County Sheriff’s Office received a total of $20,000 in cash from last year. The Chanute Police Department brought in even more – netting 24,000. In Labette County, the sheriff’s office received 6,700… while the Pittsburg P.D. got more than 11,000.
