K-9 officer catches man accused of breaking into South Nashville laundromat

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man accused of breaking into a laundromat, causing thousands of dollars in damage, now faces felony charges after being caught by a K-9 officer.

According to an arrest report, officers were to sent Maytag Family Laundry on Old Hickory Boulevard just after 5 a.m. on Monday, March 18, to respond to a burglary alarm.

Upon arrival to the scene, officers reported the entrance door had been forced open and there was pry damage to the door.

An arrest report states an officer at the scene called for a Metro Nashville Police K-9 to respond to the business.

Authorities said once K-9 Officer Wick and his owner arrived to the scene, Wick searched the premises, found the suspect inside the laundromat and apprehended him.

The suspect — identified as 45-year-old Christopher Pride — was taken into custody and charged with burglary and vandalism.

According to officials, the owner allegedly told officers there was damage to two entry doors, a coin changer, a credit card validator, a drop ceiling and two safes. The damage was valued at approximately $35,400.

Pride remains jailed on a $22,500 bond.
