Juvenile charged after setting dumpster on fire in Mooresville

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A juvenile has been charged after setting a dumpster on fire, according to the Mooresville Fire-Rescue.

Around 6:30 p.m. on April 5, crews responded to a reported dumpster fire near 128 Talbert Road.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze on a commercial dumpster and no other damage was reported, officials said.

The investigation determined the fire was intentionally set and video captured a man setting the dumpster on fire.

On Monday, April 29, Mooresville Police Department detectives helped identify the suspect and, during questioning, confessed to setting the dumpster on fire. He’s charged with burning of personal property, Mooresville officials said.
